Hello everyone
This is my first post on this forum which I discovered recently and already appreciate a lot!
My "offset side" currently consists of a great all original '66 Jaguar in Candy Apple Red which really adore.
But that is not the reason of my post today.
A few years ago, I got my hand on a '62 AVRI Jazzmaster which was mounted with what the seller told me were original '59 pickups.
I was not sure if it was really the case but the seller just gave me this information without making it a reason for selling the guitar more expensive, so I bought it.
Years later I sold the guitar but decided to keep the pickups, thinking I may need them one day for a project.
I would be really grateful if you could help confirm if these pickups are or not original Fender Jazzmaster black bottom pickups, or maybe just '59 repros? Or Squier made in China?
The pickups read 7,91k for the neck and 8,01 for the bridge
Many thanks in advance!

They look fine for a 59/ 60 set...........pole pieces were very shallow on these era (like yours), and readings are OK for this era also.
The cloth wire is repro.............
Good score though

Many thanks for your answer.
That's good news
What makes you think cloth wires are repro?
Solder joints look too new?

original pickup wiring on vintage jazzmasters is a very short black piece and a much longer white piece on each pickup...........plus I can tell by looking its modern cloth wire on yours, and yes the solder joints look fresh also.
It doesn't detract much from the value of them though

Many thanks Andrew
Do you have any idea how much this is worth?
I do not plan to sell them, I would like instead to find an original vintage JM which would have replacement pickups.
But that means I would need to find whether a 59 or a 60?
No post those years?

They sometimes appear in as late as early 61 jazzmasters.............I'd say current value would be around $500
