Were the earliest Jazzmaster tortoise pickguards shaped slightly differently?

The following eBay seller seems to believe there were two distinct shapes/hole layouts present on pickguards from 1959-1961 and 1962 onwards (including the reissues).

Recently after an email exchange with the guy who makes Spitfire guards, who was selling a real 1959 fort guard on Facebook a while ago, I wasn’t so sure there was a difference between these eras of torts.

Are there any forumites with knowledge/insight about this? Are the earliest jazzmaster tort guards shaped/made differently than their successors?

I have not heard of there being a shift during those particular years. 1958-1959 Gold Guards have fewer screws, and a slightly different screw positioning in I think one place. But I don't think there was otherwise a change after that. But that raises a question for me I have not looked into.
