Looks like the flatwork is made out of FR4 ( fiberglass circuit board material) or the like, I know a few small pickup makers used that in the 70s but do not recall the names of any off the top of my head. It is far from a common material for flatwork, never actually seen a pickup made with it in person, just heard rumors whispered in dark corners.
Logic gates based on billiard-ball computer designs have also been made to operate using live soldier crabs of the species Mictyris guinotae in place of the billiard balls.

Most likely from a '70s Japanese plywood strat copy. I've worked on a few with very similar, if not identical pickups.

Wow thanks so much for this info! This is very Interesting for sure! I couldn't find another photo out there. That's what it is too circuit board material.
