63 Jag. I swore I’d never take her apart...

No lofty (or evil) plans intended. She’s just an old warhorse that needs a bit of TLC. I got it from a chain store some time back and finally got tired of not being able to adjust the pickups. I have a strong feeling that the original owner, or thereabouts, was an open chord guy - since that’s where the neck is most worn - and most likely cringed at the sound of the rear PU. The top of the rear was adjusted as far down as the weather stripping would permit and that’s where it stayed after the stripping degraded and froze it there. IMHO a flick of a switch to the rhythm circuit should have given him the sound he wanted.

I hope these images show up. I did spring for a Classic 60’s Lacquer Jag earlier this month in case I got a chance to jam. That’ll be my last MIM... ever. Anyway if anyone wants to wish me luck I’ll sure take it.
Isn’t Sunburst a guarantee it’s NOT a refin?

That is a truly low bridge pickup!

Great Jag! I have a '63 as well that I love. Yours is in great shape. Get some replacement weather stripping and away you go!

This is where the PU’s sound good to me. It wasn’t nearly as traumatic as I’d imagined. Maybe due to all those years of breathing life back into the old Tele. I even managed to get the Trem bar unstuck without breaking the collet fingers. :) I hope to never take her apart again.

Here she sits beside a Classic 60’s Lacquer MIM. The fiesta red doesn’t bother me as much as I thought it would but, since the Classic 60’s is already worth as much as it’ll ever be, I sometimes ponder an Oly White refin.

Dude, the display size is embedded in your links, try changing the 150x100q90 part to be 1200x800q90, like above.
