I have a totally beat to shit in all the right ways 66 that I bought on here from friendshipmaster several years ago. Play it everyday. Don’t suppose it’s the same one?kosmonautmayhem wrote: ↑Wed Jan 17, 2018 6:41 pmfwiw, my old 66 Jag was super heavy too. Eventually it was too much and I sold it to fund a 66 JM. Probably too soon. That guitar still sounded amazing! Mine was beat to shit though, in all the right ways. Kinda wonder who has it now, despite being in total love with my '63.

I don't believe it was the same Jag. This was it. And same as the OP, my first vintage Fender.

that thing is a beaut, jeez
If only this thing was LPB I'd probably never look at another guitar again. The fact that I'm gonna have a tax return soon is kind of scaring me just because of how often I've thought about stupidly sending this to MJT and having them refin the whole deal and turn it into my true dream guitar.
That'd be a total sin though, right? The finish is in such good shape, it just wouldn't be fair to the universe.

Haha, thanks!
I miss this one sometimes, but playing the '63 Jag that replaced it dulls that feeling almost completely.
Don't you dare refin your beautiful Jag! Build a parts Jag instead! Get a new body and all the sweet hardware and electronics currently available and then find a stripped vintage Mustang, Duo or MM neck and refin that!
I've been considering finding an old beater neck to build a project Jag around myself.
