what type of company it this bass
hi
i buy a old bass , as been remodeled in a poor quality way, but are not possible see what type of company as been maked.
the detail is that it is too heavy it looks like very compressed wood

I am editing the plate and I will put volume and tone buttons, since it does not come with the tablets connected directly.

similarly his model is thin, which leaves without understanding why it is so heavy, the person who sold it to me did not know how to give reason of the mark of origin

i hope someone can help me thanks.

I'm not an expert, but I'd guess it may be a Teisko or something of that ilk. There are others more knowledgeable that I that can argue that point, though.
This is a signature. If you're reading this you've gone past the end of my post.

Does the paint look professionally done? I have a sneaking suspicion that it's been refinished. It's not a perfect match, but It looks like an EARLY Ibanez copy of a Dan Armstrong, like 1971 or so. It's the same headstock as used as a lot of the other Ibanez's of the time, and given that models changed from day to day, it's pretty likely they just grabbed a 30" neck and threw it on.
The more photos you take, the easier it'll be to confirm it. Either way, super sweet bass! I'd love a project like that.

^Yeah, you need to get a look under that finish, especially before you start drilling holes.

Give this site a look through. I didn't realize how many copies of the Dan Armstrong basses there are.

My money says it’s a Conrad. How do you get paint off of lucite, though?Birdman14 wrote: ↑Sun Jan 07, 2018 4:30 pmGive this site a look through. I didn't realize how many copies of the Dan Armstrong basses there are.

I don't think you're gonna get an exact year. I'd say its 70 or 71, since even the Armstrong wasn't around long.skyovercloker wrote: ↑Mon Jan 08, 2018 11:33 amyes ! thats true , yesterday i make some holes and surprise!!1 is just compressed plastica i understand why that heavy weight

If you're interested in completely stripping the paint, I'd try something like isopropyl alcohol.
