You think you can't, you wish you could, I know you can, I wish you would. Slip inside this house as you pass by.

He has some affiliation with Emerald City Guitars.
Lol, this thread is getting funny. I'm not in any way affiliated w/ ECG and the guitar isn't for sale, as previously stated. I bought the guitar from ECG, sherlocks. :fp:
For sure, lol.

I don’t care either way, but you aren’t being completely honest here.

Dude, stop hijacking the thread, and yes, I am being completely honest, here. If you ever consigned a guitar at a local guitar shop would you consider yourself 'affiliated' with them? I didn't post the Tele here, so not sure what you're trying to say, exactly.

The Jag isn't for sale and I don't work for/with ECG. It's a local vintage guitar shop, for christ's sake, I'm a guitar player and an offset collector.

Can you go Magnum PI someone else, please? :derp:

Woop..nice find! I was trying to prize a similar IBM Jag out of someone in Germany a while back.

Will say it’s a bit slack of the shop to still be advertising it with a buy it now on Reverb and Gbase, when it isn’t even available.

Unfortunately they do this all the time. This guitar for example was sold at LEAST 2 years ago, and possibly 3 or 4 and it is STILL on gbase. I emailed them a few times over the years but seems it's staying there.

Yeah ... this happens. I remember my own '62 Jazzmaster being listed for sale from a guitar store in the UK after I'd bought it from an OSGer in Belgium! It had been bought in the UK some time before I believe and the necro ads were still live.

Also - and more importantly - awesome Jaguar bterry. :)

Do you think they do it to look like the big dealer with loads of stock?

Leaving it on Gbase is not so bad, but leaving it on Reverb with a buy it now is stupid...that will just cause a potential buyer a lot of unnecessary annoyance.

Can't believe that fretboard. Did it look like that when the guitar was new? Why don't we see examples of that today? :? :? :? :?

Simple answer: they stopped using Brazilian rosewood (and now, largely have stopped using Indian rosewood as well). There's a reason there are so many BRW fetishists out there. I have a 00 acoustic and a classical guitar made of it, and although the internet will argue until the end of time regarding its tonal properties, there's no denying that it's simply a gorgeous wood.

Conservation is important but it's a bummer to see some of these really beautiful woods off the market. Lacey act made a lot of traveling musicians with vintage instrument nervous. At least they're not expecting customs agents to enforce rules and insure that a private individuals guitar is legit or not. Think of the possible horror stories!
