Well one thing I know for sure is that I'm gonna keep using Gabriel Tenorio Jazzmaster strings no matter what. Those really are something special and stay fresh for a loooong time. As long you don't bend the wound G string like I did :(
Are they really that good? This thread has really peaked my interest in stepping up from daddario nickel 11-48s to the 11-21w-52 set. I'm just curious on the extra tension on the lower strings since I've never really strayed to far from a 48/49 on the bottom.

I use .11s on my full-scale guitars and .12s on my short-scales. I like the slinkiness of a plain G in my .11 sets, but to me the thick plain Gs in the .12 sets I've tried just feel disgusting to my fingers. Like pushing on a paper clip. So it's gotta be a wound G on my shortscales. I like getting a different flavour of G string when I switch guitars.

back when rotosound used to do the reds with the wound g. i did. but i cant find them anymore..... or roto reds in general. they really have disappeared from most shops but at the same time, seem to be the only strings that last more than 3 weeks with me.

Yes they really are. Stay fresh and good sounding for a long time and the Long Twist really works wonders. I've noticed a great improvement in feel, Tone and Sustain since the Tenorio set. Happy user

Just threw in an order for the standard 11-50! Super excited to try these out. 20 bucks a pack is a lot for regular roundwound strings, but if they last as long as people say they do then they are definitely worth it.
