Yeah, he did a good job on the finish. Plays awesome, also. Real fun to have.
Back in those days, everyone knew that if you were talking about Destiny's Child, you were talking about Beyonce, LaTavia, LeToya, and Larry.

Looks like a lovely guitar, Larry. I think you should keep it. It's so damn hard to find good guitars, let alone GREAT guitars. Why risk it?
With that said, great you found a cool Martin that you like. I've played a few of those same models and was always left wanting... They almost sounded boxy and dead, and not in a "cool character" kind of way. Here, they're priced pretty highly too. I think if I were going in that direction, I'd look at the Collings Waterloo series for around the same price. They seem like great guitars!

Re: Well, fuck, I like it.
I guess I could move something else, I don't know. This is like the only guitar that I haven't bonded with in some way or made my own, although both is just a matter of time.
But as I was playing the acoustics, I got to wondering why I really play electric guitar at all, just to give you a little heads up as to my mindset. I've always had a huge passion for acoustic guitar and I already have some very good ones, my primary at the moment is a very solid and great sounding Taylor 410. But I have a Taylor twelve string and a lesser tier Martin that I've had for twenty years or so.
But I do want to get away from the dreadnought shape and my time with these other sized guitars reinforced that. One, I virtually never get to play into my amp any more, I live in a two bedroom apartment, with two small kids, and don't play out and aren't likely to start anytime soon.
So the idea of a high quality acoustic of a smaller size that I could sort of sit around and play sounds very appealing to me.
There will be something up in the for sale section here soon. It would be hard to part with the only pre-CBS Fender I've ever owned. Especially since it was immediately apparent why those instruments are held in the high regard that they are. I love me some Fender guitars, but yeah... there is something pretty magical about the Leo era.

Re: Well, fuck, I like it.
Completely understandable and wholly relatable.
Having a good acoustic, not necessarily just in quality, but one that you have a good relationship with is very important. I have a terrible (well, it's great, but cheap and needs a lot of work) Norman that I absolutely love and it gets a majority of attention, despite having more expensive stuff. It's infinitely more inspiring and the fact that it's a bit junky, I tend to not care about scratches or any future cracks.
When I'm not playing keyboard, I'm usually on acoustic. So I support that decision!
(Also, still check out the Waterloo guitars, if you can)

^^^ Man, that's fucking gorgeous!! If on top of it it plays well I wouldn't part with it. That dark rosewood fretboard looks lovely.

Re: Well, fuck, I like it.
It's the 24" scale length. Good point, I should mention that on the Reverb ad I have up for it, which I'll be tweaking today.
I've also decided to mention on the Reverb ad that it'll be up for a limited time, probably two weeks from Friday or something. At that point, I'll scuttle the sale and keep my Mustang.

If I had this Mustang, I'd call it a keeper.

Re: Well, fuck, I like it.
Which is what it will be on August 18, so the sale will run that long:
https://reverb.com/item/6171137-fender- ... blue-refin" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Hopefully I am not breaking any rules by putting that link in this section, but I do have a "for sale" thread up also.
Regardless, that'll be my time period, if it doesn't sell by then, I'll Larry it all up and keep it forever.

Re: Well, fuck, I like it.
Very, very nice. I'd keep it, but then I'm a musical equipment hoarder.
I have an old (not that old) cheap Fender acoustic that's my beater, don't care if it gets dinged or nicked, isn't that nice to play but I can play it anywhere. I also have a very nice classical that I don't play often enough because it's very nice, and I play more electric because I've spent so much on electric equipment. But I'd sure miss the classical or electrics if anything happened to them. I hope you end up happy with your choice, however it works out.
