there's oil in the name but it hardens like tru-oil. Oil and varnish, really.

Re: Vintage Bass VI pickup specifications
After a long research I decided to buy three Seymour Duncan SJAG-1 pickups for the Bass VI (2x neck, 1x bridge). As far as I know the SD neck pickup is wound RWRP. What's the best way to achieve the hum-canceling effect? Neck, Bridge, Neck or Neck, Neck, Bridge? Any suggestions? Thanks!

the best way is the way you want it. where YOU would most likely want to combine pickups and buck hum.
Don't cut the wires so you can change pickup positions later!

Ok, then I'll go with the Neck, Bridge, Neck, because it matches the vintage Bass VI pickup constellation. That's what I like. Apart from this I'll use only the neck pickup most of the time.

Re: Vintage Bass VI pickup specifications
I was contemplating why my squier VI has weak neck and loud middle, so this might be the case but i dislike it. actually it came with some of the claws facing different directions, so maybe they've all been mixed up- who knows!2fLAz wrote: ↑Tue Jul 18, 2017 3:36 amIf my memory is fine (and I am sure it has been discussed here many times), pickup-wise Fender was doing as follow
Bridge and neck pickup woudl feature a neck pickup
Middle would feature a bridge pickup.
But I came across several Bass VI in the past, vintage Bass VI and some were as follow
Bridge and neck feature bridge pickup
Middle was neck pickup.
These were 63 + 64 Bass VI
