You rather raised the bar!:D
I've been Gassing for one for ages and been contemplating making a tribute replica!

Yeah, I really like those Ibanez JM's. Are those bar magnet pickups like a P90?
Here's my #1. I'm still sorting out a sticking trem, but otherwise it's fun:

Sorry, I didn't see your question. I have no idea if the pickups are bar magnet. I have looked under the hood, but it was a while ago. These pickups are made by Maxon, and are much warmer sounding than the vintage Jazzmaster pickups. They don't really sound like P90s either, and are far more quieter than both JM an P90 pickups. On the next string change I will take some photos.

My September '64 Jazzmaster
All original exept a refin, refret and pat pend trem with the shorter spring
rather heavy for a pre cbs Jazzmaster at 8.6 lb, but this one surpasses all other Jazzmasters I had before
I love it!

That thing is lovely! Such a classic yet not at all boring combo, white and tort.

I have a pair of those pickups in my parts stash- your question prompted me to pop the back off one of them to take a look, and yep they're P90- style.

The faded-out sunburst of the late 50s is very cool.

Stick a fork in me. I'm done. This is the pinnacle of Jazzmasterdom.
Here's my number one of the last three years. Sadly, I just sold to fund the purchase of another vintage Jazzmaster.
great OSG deals with: ncarey13, skip.
great TGP deals with: drjoel, 12strings, Tim P, angrybandnerd, echobaseone, guitarpkr67, jcampbell331
