Here's my heavily modified Aria 1802T with some pretty silly mods.

In case anyone needs one:

Since it looks like Matsumoku-style M5 x 0.90 thread tremolo arms/whammy bars for Japanese made Aria, Teisco, Kay, Epiphone, etc. guitars are hard to find, and it looks like that EZPZ company no longer finds replacement parts, I found a way to get one custom made.

First I bought a 5mm unthreaded push-in tremolo arm, the type I got was sold in this ebay listing "NEW 5mm Wilkinson Push-in Tremolo Arm / Whammy Bar for Vintage ® Brand guitars*" by ebay seller Vanson Guitars http://www.ebay.com/itm/NEW-5mm-Wilkins ... 1584681105 Perhaps any tremolo arm that is 5mm and unthreaded will work.

This company Piercy Machine Company does custom machining and can cut M5 x 0.90 threads

I sent them the dimensions and a diagram for Matsumoku tremolo arms that user UC3 sent me:

"Measured and averaged dimensions of (4) tremolo arms.

Don't get lost in the weeds, these dimensions will get you where you want to go.

Diameter - chrome plated rod stock = 5mm

Length - entire section back of bend to tip of section without threads = 50mm

Length - section with threads = 10.5 - 11.5mm*

*There is another 1 - 2mm of “shoulder” that is unusable because it is partially threaded.

Length - section below threaded section = 11.5mm -12mm

Diameter - section below threaded section = 3.5mm"

Here are some pictures of the finished tremolo arm and it fitting in my Matsumoku guitar, it works great!

Are those the same thing that goes into a Hi Flier? My friend just got one and of course there's no bar. I've been suggesting just to either try and fit an import collet into it or maybe, just maybe, go for a Mastery. I've yet to find out if that'll work though, as these guitars are pretty thin.

I fucking love you forever for using a Kahler like that. I've considered doing something similar in the past/present/future.

I just sort of accidentally a ET-270. It's hella beat up, needs a nut, could use new frets, and has no electronics, but damn if it wasn't cheap. Pictures will be posted soonish.

I have two G&L soapbar MFDs that are just about the right size, though the body is beat up enough I wouldn't feel too bad about, say, routing for a Super Distortion.

We'll see.

Question, I have the Matsumoku trem on my Epiphone ET-275, but someone broke the arm tip off in the socket. Rather than trying to drill out the tip and still need to find an arm that fits, with a little elbow grease can the staytrem collet fit. Or does anyone have a replacement collet for this unit?

This question has been discussed on page 03.
The Staytrem collet thread is very different from the Matsumoku collet thread.
Not the same pitch, not the same size.

Something might still be possible with good tools and a lot of goodwill.

Hi everyone!

First post on this great forum I read a lot. As, of course, I have a lot of offset guitars.
Anyway, I came accross an Aria 1802 that is really stunning.



It is in superb, really superb condition. I feel very lucky to have the original trem bar..



But...as strange as it is...it is missing a pickup! (And the volume knob. But this is a detail).
Strange as the guitar is otherwise perfect.

Anyway, I am looking everywhere for a trapezoidal neck pickup. I am patient, I scroll eBay all the time, but have no luck.
So : if anyone has one in his parts bin, you would be my last hope, and you would save my guitar !!!

...always wanted an ET270, and now -after one hell of a fucking horror deal (thank God for a happy end in the end- I have one. LOVE the redburst. LOVE the neck.
I've had some Aria branded ones and hated them.

Got it cheap, in the end it was worth the stress...

Bad news is, the vibrato bar has/is broken. Literally broken and stuck in the hole...

Here’s my Aria Diamond 1803t, which has a matched set of mystery pickups professionally installed by a previous owner.
When I bought it, the vibrato wouldn’t bend and the pots/switches and socket were all shot. I rewired the whole guitar and it’s killer now. It was a mystery why the vibrato wasn’t working but with the help of some knowledgeable techs we think that the spring has been replaced with an incorrect one, possibly a bigsby spring.

Anyone have any good ideas one replacement saddles for the ones found of these Aria/Epiphone guitars?

I have a modified 1832t, which is a slight variant on the Aria models. I love the guitar but feel like the plastic saddles (and potentially the nut) let down the resonance of the guitar. I was wondering if anyone else who has this variant of saddles has found a good sound replacement for the plastic parts? Otherwise I'm considering having some machined for it.

you might be able to replace the saddles with the tusq saddles. i have them on my jazzmasters. they look like they'd fit fine.
