Re: I can't decide
Another bidder showed up last second on the Realistic, and I didn't want to get into a bidding war.
I cancelled my order through Korg and bought a Microbrute. Half the price and has the features I want, and it sounds good. I may upgrade to the Minilogue at a future date once the rush for them has died down.

Get a mother 32, best sounding synth I've heard and I've hear a lot.

Re: I can't decide
I say get the Realistic. They sound pretty great and can sound pretty big! Even if they need some work, they can be fixed to last another 20+ years.
The Mother 32 has a lot going on. It's too 'busy' for me and didn't give me instant gratification. But I know lots of people who love it!

Re: I can't decide
I bought my first-ever synth recently, and it was a Minilogue. I don't have much to compare it to, but it really is a blast. In fact, I recorded my first song this past weekend with it.
I don't really know what else to say other than don't cancel your order, especially if you've already paid for it. But this is also coming from someone who was set on something polyphonic.
Why not have both a polyphonic and a monophonic

I wish I could afford both. Pretty happy with the Microbrute so far.InLimbo wrote:I bought my first-ever synth recently, and it was a Minilogue. I don't have much to compare it to, but it really is a blast. In fact, I recorded my first song this past weekend with it.

Re: I can't decide
I realise this is well after your original post, but I just wanted to point out that whilst you can crank the resonance on the Minilogue and play the filter, it definitely doesn't do sine waves on the oscillators.
