I honestly just don't trust myself to be up to the minor challenge. I'm like that with everything: if the interface/menu/whatever isn't totally intuitive for me specifically, it just doesn't ever seem to click for me now matter how much work I put into it. My brain just says "fuck this thing and fuck you too for making me have to deal with it." :fp: It's like trying to give a cat a bath, but way harder.

I've been eyeing those Behringers again... I absolutely love their Model D. I honestly think that's one of the best gear purchases I've made in recent years. It's really hard to get a bad sound out of that thing... Which leads me to...

I'm thinking of ridding myself of my Moog Prodigy and just picking up a Behringer K2 (MS-20 Clone) and a Behringer Pro-1 (Pro One clone). I love the look of the Prodigy, but lets be real... That's not enough justification to own it. For some reason, I've just never really jelled with it, but I feel like I could justify the Pro-1 and K2 more, especially given their size.

Or, I could just pocket the cash.

I wish Behringer would make a polyphonic model D.

I'd prefer a Prophet 5-alike if that were the case.

When’s their Behrinheim coming out?

Someone sedate me before I buy a Behringer Pro-1.

I'm not even close to fulling understanding my Model-D and Grandmother!!!

I want a Minimoog so badly. The Matriarch would be amazing, too.

Part of me wants to sell guitars and buy more synths. :fp:

I’ve been on the waiting list for the Pro-1 clone since January. If it’s anywhere as good at Sequential as the Model D is at Moog I’m sure it will be well worth the $300. And I will do whatever is necessary to get the OB-X clone.

My thoughts exactly.

I think it's their "Chinese Democracy".

I hope they offer the Behrenheim as both a module AND a keyboard, if anything. I'd really like one, regardless. I can't say enough good things about their Model D, so I have no doubts that anything else they release now will be just as good.

Still, though... A prophet 5 clone would be amazing. How hard could one of those be to make for a company like them?

IN OTHER NEWS

I've been making somewhat cheesy Disco music with my synths lately and honestly it's been incredibly fun. It's also made me realize what I actually like as far as the synths I own. I definitely think I could get rid of my Roland SH-2000 and my Moog Prodigy. I just can't seem to make them work the way I want to. I'd like something to replace them though. I wonder what? Roland JX-3P/JX-8P with programmer? Prophet 6? String synth of some sort? :jacked:

Here's a clip of the fun disco-ish stuff I've been mucking around with. A lot of it is 'live tracking' recorded at about 7 am on Saturday (those brassy Juno stabs are a little off to my ears). Anywho:

I did read somewhere that a Prophet 5 is in the works from Behringer. I read it on the internet, it must be true.

Well, it was a proper article on a proper website that cited Behringer themselves, and it was published about a year ago. Prolly something they'll noodle on when the UB-Xa is on the market.

I'm actually pretty excited about this "sample robot" program that I guess has been around for a while but I just heard about. It'll automatically sample your VST synths and save to whatever format you like, so I could sample my FM8 (since there aren't any actual hardware synths that will handle the patches it makes due to its extended capabilities) into the correct format for a Korg Triton, for example, and effectively just have all my cool VST patches in hardware. And the Triton has a stick instead of a pitch wheel, which personally I prefer by far. So I guess I'm in the market for a Triton as of next year since right now I'm spending my fun money on travel.

Sample robot means that my arturia collection just got a lot more practical.
