I'm curious about the soon-to-be-released Linndrum 2. Looks pretty cool.

I'm pretty sure it's been "soon to be released" since late 2007!  :D

Me too...the machinedrum whilst I love it...it's a little thin for my tastes.

Im hoping the Linndrum II blows it away.

Want.

For drum machines myself I just use the default Impulse drums on Ableton. They sound so tacky. Which therefore means awesome. And they sound awesome if you reverb and overdrive them to fuck.
I want also.
But I want the 606 too for its realtime mode switching.

Impulse. Play around with the decays, transpose the snare lower, stick in a lot of compression. Signature sound.

thanks for the 'Twins info...lots of different boxes...Robin seems to go through lots of gears! turns out I got the Oberheim idea from another 'Twins thread and one poster had said that's what he used and somehow in my brain it became what Robin used  :-[

why do you use the default samples in ableton live?
there are tons of zipped 606, 707 and 808 samples out there. ???
that plus the bitcrusher is a good point to start off..

Ha..no Im not that crazy :o)..I picked all my drum machines up cheaply over the years...the trouble I find is they all sound so different and equally cool that you need them all! Same thing with analogue synths...

Loads of people used the Oberheim DMX or DX back in the day it was £2000 to buy in 1982. The most famous Oberheim track is Blue Monday by New Order...it's on lots of their stuff form that period...The Cure used it on The Walk too
