I can understand your obsession. I got mine 6 months ago. I did a 2000 km roundtrip to get it. Fuel cost me way more than the organ itself in mint condition! However, I don't regret this purchase. It's the coolest sound from a tiny organ I could imagine. Of course the Vox and Farfisa sound great, for many better, but for my budget and needs the Philicorda is THE combo organ.

Youse guys asked fer it.... I have a collection of about 30 combo organs from the '60s, early to late, mostly in working, playable condition.

The only thing I don't have is a Farfisa Combo Compact. They don't have a whole lot of style (except the red ones), although I lurv the sound of 'em.

I've got a complete set of '67 ELKAs, plus some duplicates of these. I own the ex-Strawberry Alarm Clock / Mark Weitz Duo Deluxe ELKA, which was mint but was damaged in shipping by FedEx. It's being restored. I've got some oddities, too, like a Hohner with tube voicing, and a '64 Cordovox (accordion with organ built-in), which has a tone generator cabinet with no less than 85 tubes to create and modify tones, a nice amplifier, and a separate Leslie speaker unit, all in separate matching Tolex-covered cabinets. I've got Gibsons, Lowreys, VOXes, a Baldwin, a couple of Howards, three Teiscos, a Farfisa Duo Professional, a WERSI Beta portable (200+ pounds...), and a Hammond X5 with a 760 Leslie.

Guitars are still my main hobby and passion. However, I started on keyboards back in '64, and could never afford anything nice until I got old and nostalgic.

that baldwin combo looks rad, how much did you pick it up for?

It came as part of a package deal, so I can't say, exactly. Somewhere around $500.00, give or take.

k, thanks...it was listed only a few hours ago.....I already sent a message to the seller....thing is he mentioned that the power cable is not attached anymore and he cannont garantee that it'll work

FWIW, I have the full service manual for the tube version of the GM751 (or 753, need to look that up) in digital format (unfortunately, I don't have the schematics for my own model, which is a major pain in the arse). Let me know if you need them. Not sure in which language... may even be German.

Just dropped on an old (but mint) Viscount 2-manual home organ for £30. Nowhere near as cool as some of the droolworthy stuff elsewhere in this thread, but excited nonetheless. Picking it up next week, can't wait.

i was really close to buying an old yamaha organ... but then i realized that i can't play piano...

curve earth, the great thing about organ is you don't have to know how to play it, just hold down chords and change them with the progression and your playing organ, they have infinite sustain! almost as forgiving as a monosynth where all you do is push one key and change the filters for 5 mins to vast audience applause

No pics (yet), but my organ collection consists of a Magnus chord organ, a Koestler Harmophone and a Hammond M2. For anybody not familiar with a Koestler Harmophone, think along the lines of "Magnus chord organ sans chord buttons." At the moment, the Koestler is still at my dad's, and the Hammond needs a touch of TLC to be playable (2 tubes needed, oil the TWG, minor cleaning of the electronics connections). I can almost envision how the Hammond can fit into my original creations, but everytime my mind wanders off in that direction I always "hear" a B3/122 playing. Wishful thinking, I guess.
