Moog One

It looks amazing. It probably sounds amazing. Who can afford it at $8k? Synth players are used to shelling out $2-3k for anything that’s not modular, but for me, as a guitar player, that is big time sticker shock. :wtf:

The 8-voice is cheaper than the 16 at only $6k:

It'll probably go down in price within a year according to some synth forums. It's an amazing synthesizer, though, and given what people pay for vintage guitars or even new custom shop instruments, 8k isn't a particularly high price anymore. And with the Moog One you really get a lot of synth for your money.

Seems crazy to me too!

Here's some reference though:
A minimoog in 1974 cost about $8k in today's dollars.

There is a really interesting video for it Moog released. It sounds great and the video is fun to watch. Still doesn't want to make me line up a second mortgage to buy one.

Yeah, if I were a keyboard specialist I would definitely want one. Synths have always been expensive relative to guitars. A Fairlight was £50k when it first came out, but being mainly a guitarist that dabbles, it’s out of my range. I will settle on a Sub-37 for my Moog itch.

It sounds pretty incredible, but I think the average dabbler cannot justify it. I'm sure the synth and keyboard experts are excited though. That video Moog released is really awesome!
