Picked up an old snare drum with case at 2nd hand store for a whopping $3.
Trying to find info online about age/production... but when I Google search "Olds snare drum" I get one listing for sale and then a bunch of pages about "old"(vintage ) drums.
anyone know when/where these were produced?

What is acoustic? Oh, you means a grandpa's guitars? A grandpa's guitars? That's for pussies and grandpas. I think you know it.

I googled "Olds brand iinstruments" and this is what came up. Don't know if they're related, but it's possible. Any other markings on the drum?

Mine looks just like this one but with a plastic carrying case. And more rust on the screws...

Japanese steel drum. Welded and folded. Could be made anywhere from the '60s through today. A lot of folks scoff at cheap steel drums but find the right head for it and you'll be doing dandy, especially for $3.
