My three: Sequential Circuits Prophet 6, Moog Sub 37, and an Oberheim Matrix 1000. The latter of which was used on Massive Attacks Mezzanine - a nice little thing to find out after I bought it.

Re: The Synth Thread...
My latest acquisition arrived this morning a replacement of the first instrument I ever owned...and I love it been a while since I had so much fun of the bat with a new bit of kit.
Loads of stuff on it I had no idea about when I was a kid - the on-board sounds are a bit cheesy but you can import them directly into the sampler and really mess them up you can also layer them with sounds sampled from the Mic and assign them to different parts of the keyboard.
Really good for making ambient soundscapes for adding atmosphere
And the best feature is the auto sample when you sample thought the line in... did I mention I love this thing
And to think I used to just sample my self swearing when I had my original one...

^ I've quite fancied getting one of these for a while now. I know the mini version goes for silly money because the guy from Sigur Ros uses one. If you don't mind answering, what kind of money does the big version go for these days?

Re: The Synth Thread...
This one was listed in ebay for £75 buy it now. So I sent an offer of £45 thinking I might go to £55 but the guy accepted my first offer. Was free post too.UlricvonCatalyst wrote:^ I've quite fancied getting one of these for a while now. I know the mini version goes for silly money because the guy from Sigur Ros uses one. Didn't know Sigur Ros used one off to look that up.

Wow, that's what I call a bargain. It's the VSS-30 the Sigur Ros guy uses; those go for closer to £200 most days. Yours looks better where space isn't an issue.dezb1 wrote:This one was listed in ebay for £75 buy it now. So I sent an offer of £45 thinking I might go to £55 but the guy accepted my first offer. Just read up on the sigur Ros apparently used loads on the Kveikur album to do stuff like the start of this song - https://youtu.be/aV2IkSpRPtU" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; he uses the has vss 30 it has a basic sequencer that the 200 doesn't have, but other than that the 200 has more options. Can't wait to do a bit of recording with it... Will be ripping this off in the near future - https://youtu.be/wyxKDLVWL28" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;UlricvonCatalyst wrote:Wow, that's what I call a bargain. Re: The Synth Thread...
Repost from the inexpensive synth thread:
Korg MS 20 (mini) and 1980 Moog Prodigy (CV/Gate mod, recently serviced, fantastic condition)
I found someone on Etsy making wood sides for the MS 20 and it really classes it up! A lot of Moog purists shit on the Prodigy but I think it's brilliant, and about a fifth the cost of a MiniMoog.
I also bought a Korg SQ-1 (sitting on top of the MS 20, above), mostly to use as a Midi to CV converter for older gear. I'm still trying to figure it out— much of the info I've found on it is a bit cryptic — but I'm slowly getting the hang of it...I think. I don't know if it gives me anything I don't already have in my DAW, honestly.

The cool thing about fretless is you can hit a note...and then renegotiate.

Re: The Synth Thread...
Well my cheap mini key synth fetish has struck again, was through a my mates setting up the gretsch he got from his local crack converters (posted pics ages ago) so I thought I'd pay a visit to said shop on the way home and ended up buying a Casio HT-700. My 3rd acquisition in the past month, while it's a much cheaper pastime than buying guitars (the 3 synths have cost me just over £70) they do take up a fair bit of space, need to put up some new studio shelving to house them ... I'll post some pics once I've cleaned it up it's currently on the bench in the garage.
