Re: Zhivago's Vintage Hotties - 1953 Gibson ES-125
Oh God. This is the one (or one like it) I've somehow been gassing for for the last weeks-to-months. I had no idea they were relatively affordable. There are several FS in Amsterdam right now, and I don't even dare to enter the shops. Justification for buying: it could double as an acoustic, and I don't have a proper one of those. Plus it's old and has a p90 . And I love the full guitar body without cutaways. Justification for not buying: urgh, can't afford that kind of thing right now.

they sound really nice unplugged, and the P90 rocks...I know it ain't helping much, but he one I played was spectacular!

Did you play it plugged in with gain/fuzz? I'm considering one and wondering how it handles things. Thanks!zhivago wrote: they sound really nice unplugged, and the P90 rocks...I know it ain't helping much, but he one I played was spectacular!
BTW, this is a beautiful guitar... simply beautiful

no distortion, but if it sounds like all the other hollow-bodies I've played distorted, then it must be amazing overdriven
