Dang!  That thing looks pristine!
I wish to propose a doctrine which may, I fear, appear wildly paradoxical and subversive. The doctrine in question is this: that it is undesirable to believe a proposition when there is no ground whatever for supposing it true. - Bertrand Russell

it's actually rather interesting that many Gretsches were kept in immaculate condition over the years.

maybe it's because they were so expensive, even back in the day...I suppose it's similar to high-end archtops...they were well taken care of as well :)

The wear and tear on 1950s Jets, that I've seen, has been on the neck and back of the body rather than the front. I suspect that the absence of a nitro finish on Gretsch Jets has more than a bit to do with this.

Regardless, that Jet Firebird is stunning!  :? :? :-* :? :? :-* :? :? :-* :? :?
