Oops.. I was still editing my post when you wrote.. Go back and see, it's even better now!  ;)

This guitar is certainly a mish-mash of 1960 and 1963-64 (maybe later) parts.

If that decal is original, no way it's a '63.

This guitar is one of the "Fretted Americana"'s demo guitars on YouTube:
(Note the tortoise pattern, it's very obvious that this is the same guitar)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Chzb_STpMrI

They claim it's a 1963.... Let's see..

The description on their website states:
This is an excellent guitar, in exceptionally fine (9.00) and totally original condition.
And they ask 9 500$ for it.

But, this is definitely a parts master, and we can be sure of that by their own description of it..

There's the PAT.PEND. tailpiece, ok...
There's the early (1960-ish) tortoise colour and pattern..

Then, there's the pot codes!
The pots are stamped: "137 946," "137 947," and "137 950" (CTS November and December 1959).
Then there's the case:
Housed in its original Fender light brown Tolex hardshell case with brown leather ends and dark orange plush lining (9.00).
;D

Detective work done, thank you.   8)
