MXL R144/R44 - crazy cheap ribbon mic that gives you instant loveable guitar/vocal/front of kit/room sounds with a sturdy case and a shockmount included for around $99. Booya.

Re: stupidly cheap mics that doesnt suck that bad
So now in addition to the RVD1 kick mic.
I got a studio projects B1, and an AT2020....£100 for both...
in addition i have an md421, found it for 100 with a missing clip.
A £70 apex 210 and some odd "yoga" mics....
For an 8 track drum setup...its under £350 for good mics-you'd see any of these in a functioning studio... when usually drum sets are very compromised and would only feature one of these good mics, and still be 350.....rather good i think, since all these can double up on everything else.

Behringer ECM8000
Radio Shack 33-3302 (come with clips for drums)
Also, not a true "cheap" mic, but the EV 635A is a real go-to for me. It's usually my favorite on guitar amps.

Update: we did all the vocals on our recording with a 635A. It beat out an RE20 and a vintage U87.marqueemoon wrote:Behringer ECM8000
