looks like i need ANOTHER recording interface. Presonus=dead

never had any luck resuscitating that Firebox but a guy on a local FB gear-swap page had an Audiobox 22VSL he wasn't using (Presonus).
i swapped him it for an Alesis Nanoverb, brought it home, it lit up, and then... Reason can't find it.

even trying to download the latest drivers for the audiobox, the Presonus prompt says i don't meet the minimum RAM requirements so it might not work...
but it's minimum is 2GB and i have 3

is my Mac just too old to record with ?! i'm running Mavericks just fine at the moment...
if Bjork friggin' recorded Vespertine on a Macbook 15 years or so again i dunno what the heck i'm doing wrong.

a friend of mine uses an older mac and swears by (either the 1st or 2nd gen) of "Apogee One" - anyone familiar ?
apparently they're 200 or 300 used but they're supposed to be plug and play

MOTU stuff has historically been bomb proof for me. I think the UA Apollo line is fantastic these days.

I had an Apogee Duet for a while and thought it was good.

i'd also go with a motu. much value for the price!
i'd even pick a used motu over a lot of other (cheaper) newer ones.

I don't know about the customer service, but take a look at the new behringer umc202hd. I picked it up on a whim because it's so cheap and was really surprised at how it handles signals without clipping. An incredible bargain.
