Re: Wanna hear my new song? (Now with more øøøøøøø, pg4)
Thanks guys!
Hopefully without wearing out my welcome, I thought I'd share a new demo I recorded over the weekend. The "Sir Paul is a badass" thread is timely, since I based this song's sparse drum/melodic bass parts on "Something", not that I would ever compare myself to the Beatles, just citing an influence.

WOW! The song is good but Brad's mix brings out all the intricacies of the instrumentation. I heard alot of things going on in the remix I didn't hear clearly before. The bass guitar is alot cleaner and the little beach boys keyboard part really jumps out at you now. Fantastic work guys!

Great song, great songwriting, really enjoyed it man! Sounds really familiar but in a good comforting way, I really like your use of chord changes and the timing of them, impressive.Telliot wrote:Just wanted to update the thread for anyone interested, the link above is to the finished new song.Telliot wrote:Thanks guys!

Re: Wanna hear another new song? (pg5)
Thanks to everyone for their kind words. It's difficult for me to express just how much it means to me to hear people appreciate what I do. I've spent so much of my life thinking my music wasn't 'cool enough' and just quietly did my thing and never played it for anyone. This thread, and working with Brad has boosted my confidence and re-lit my creative fire, and suddenly I'm writing more music than I have in a long, long time. So a HUGE thanks to everyone of you and your support.

+1
LOVE this new song! Reminds me a bit of Adam Franklins solo stuff which is awesome.
I'd kill to be able to play with a fantastic songwriter like you!

Thanks! I wish. I have fantasies of putting a band together, but I've found it difficult to find players of a like mind.FuZZBoY wrote:Wow that's really good!

Did you ever send your music to a record company?
I guess with your quality recordings, you could find some good musicians to play your music!
I know it's not easy though...but it's so good to play our own songs live damn!

I haven't sent anything out, no. Do people still do that? It seems in this day and age of iTunes and Bandcamp, that you have a distributor literally at your fingertips. Obviously, having the backing of a record label could help with promotion and give you more 'legitimacy', but at what cost? I'm not sure it's worth the trouble.

Re: Wanna hear more new songs? (pgs 5 and 6)
Not too sure about the mix, but here's another new one I just finished. I was happy to record the ES125, along with my '50s Supro lapsteel, through the Swart AST I was borrowing.

That sounds awesome, Todd.
What Supro steel do you have? I've got one too.
