i think it was built by Masons!
or
you either bought a very expensive mic... or you're going to build a mic. i'll go with the latter

Re: What does it all mean???
cool idea. i got a soundelux e47 mic used a year or so ago. it's a "inspired by" mic too. i like it but how much does it really sound like a u47? not so much, but great non the less. now his bock audio line has a 47 inspired by mic. i wonder how close his new mic is to his old mic and what differences there are in the design from the original, apart from the fact that no one is making the correct capsule, and the tubes are hella expensive/rare.

hmm, i guess i misread your earlier post about capsules. i thought you said no one was making them correctly. my mistake.
the only thing not easily available are the tubes then? i like your other thread about tubes. was very interesting

I know the feeling.øøøøøøø wrote: This has consumed me the last 2 weeks, but then again I'm easily consumed by nerd shit.
It's inspiring to hear plans and schemes like this tho - makes me want to get a move-on with some plans and schemes, too .
Thanks! I hope you achieve your desired results!

Brad I know absolutely nothing about mics and their circuits. What I am wondering though is why they use a triode strapped pentode for the mic tube, instead of using a triode?
