I know we all have some jokes we will never tire of, so I get why Blues Lawyers are essentially the wrestling heels of the guitar world. Like the joke itself, I suspect that most of the blues lawyers we disparage aren't really doing much these days? I don't know-- as I am also older and out of touch.

I really love Albini's recording aesthetics, techniques and knowledge. As noted by others, I think that gruff exterior stuff is kind of an act. I've always wanted to record with him.

bearded hipsters who used to be in bands are the new blues lawyers, anyway. :)

And I have no ill will toward any of the above.

I‘m wearing a flannel shirt, I have a beard and I own several offset guitars. And I own a vintage record player. And I know who Steve Albini is. Good lord, I’m a hipster :wtf: :fp:

You could also just be middle aged. If you were wearing a flannel loincloth on the other hand...

The last time I was young was when years started with 199* or 200*. So... yes, I'm probably just getting old.

If you want to know if you're still cool, here's an easy test:
As soon as you question your own coolness, you're not cool anymore. Period. 8)

I enjoyed the "Junk" episode, as I have with most of that series. Just listened to the Tape Op interview with Steve, was a pretty good chat...

Yep. I jokingly give up with my kids when they're ribbing me and reply with "I'm from the 1900s, WHAT DO YOU WANT FROM MEEEE?!?!?"

I've been enjoying this EQD series quite a lot.
Me too. I was originally a bit put off (more in a funny or joking way) by the title, and am surprised they did that with all the crap going on in the world right now. Though, maybe that was exactly the intentional point ;D EQD do seem to have a great sense of humor.
