Does anyone use KRK Rokit studio monitors? I have a chance to pick up some Rokit 6 monitors for a small home studio I am throwing together & the reviews are good but I'm looking for first hand experience/reviews.

in that price bracket, it's all down to what you get accustomed to.

If they're what you can currently afford and are available, you could do worse.

If you go for it, set them up in the best place you can within your room, do what you can afford to do to mitigate some of your room's worst acoustic issues, and proceed to listening to a TON of music you know very well on them.

I think they're hands down the best monitors in that price range. I know guys that use the Rockit 8's that work on major projects and they do the job great. Like Brad said getting to know them and doing what you can in the room you're in will help a lot. I use their V8's and they are hands down the best monitors I've heard without spending 3-4x the cash. They're really making awesome stuff these days.

I had a set of Rokit 8s, I'm not displeased with them. They are very much prosumer monitors as you've read, but I'll suggest that to jump up in quality will not only cost you a good bit more but also might be moot if your environment doesn't match the outlay of expensive, professional grade monitors. That is to say, if you buy a ten thousand dollar set of precision, studio grade monitors, and use that in your spare bedroom you might as well have just bought the Rokits.

Thanks for the replies. I am a hobbyist at best so it will be in a bedroom converted studio. I'm thinking these will be best for me.
