Ipad synth help

Post by budda12ax7 » Sun Dec 03, 2017 3:23 pm

I want to use my iPad as a synth, saw some moog stuff and a Korg poly, but does these sims sound any good and is the keyboard laggy? I found some free synth's on the App Store. Not sure sure to invest a few bucks into this?

I've used some iPhone synth apps that cost a few bucks and didn't sound awful, and a friend used a Mellotron app live off his phone a few years back, but no experience with those. I do use my iPad with the Logic Control app to control Logic and it's built in synths and never experienced lag with any of them.

A number of the better soft synths are close cousins to versions made for computers, but at much, much lower prices. The Arturia ones, for example, are well worth the price. There are a lot of good and useful ones to be had. In my opinion, however, it's the iOS drum machines that really shine. Elastic Drums, DM1, etc.--super useful and integrate pretty well into desktop situations if you are using Ableton Live and Link.

The Korg plugkey looks pretty interesting.
