That's precisely what makes it "impossible"

I can't find maple with white block inlays anywhere :fp:

You could have it custom-made. I know Warmoth can do white blocks on maple.

Sort of... Here'r the thing. In the neck model choice for JM there are no white perloid block inlays. But I went over to Mustang/Jag, and there they do!
Also, they have a CBS headstock for Mstang/Jag that I really do prefer. bummer :squint:

Will drop them a line to see if it's a glitch in the JM options, or if they can do it including a CBS headstock.

Call USA Custom guitars and talk to them. They can build you whatever you want and are top notch as far as quality goes. If that's whatI was going after, I would have considered a lighter piece of baked maple for the neck.

Love the idea. Makes me think of peppermint candy for some reason. I also say give Warmoth a call. Websites always have limitations in representing what people can do, whether it be custom work or price.

+1. I have a Warmoth JM with a Warmoth neck that officially (i.e. as per the website) Warmoth doesn't make.

You're a tease, did you know that?

I'm calling this a bluff. Post a picture with detailed description... or it never happened!

It's one of their "vintage/modern" construction necks (i.e. single-style truss rod like vintage, but adjusts at the headstock) using woods (Goncalo Alves shaft / Macassar Ebony fretboard) offered on their "modern" construction necks. These woods aren't available through the website's "custom neck builder" but can be requested, as I learned. Other details: unfinished wood, 9.5 radius, SRV profile. Build thread here, post w/neck description here and here.

What does Warmoth charge for these special requests though? Are the prices inline with the rest of their stuff? i.e. does a maple JM neck with white blocks cost as much as a rosewood Strat neck with white blocks?

Some custom part manufacturers really get you for straying from the norm. I tried to get a blank pickguard from a guy the other day and he jacked up the price for what seemed like a very simple request. He was charging $20 for the standard guard but wanted $60 to leave off the pickup holes (so that I could cut my own). Seemed silly to me if each one was really made to order. I can justify the difference for a special order vs. a mass produced piece but he claimed to make them all one-by-one, so if anything I was saving him work ;D .
