New design I've been working on

I've been messing around in Photoshop, working on a body shape. It's based on the Music Man Stingray II, warped to create an offset look. Tried out a bunch of different finishes. Take a look, share your thoughts.

Natural, Crimson Transparent, Sherwood Green

Rosewood, 3TS, Sonic Blue, Olympic White

A couple of different bridges: Strat, Covered Strat, Mustang

What do you think? Which colour do you prefer?

I like the Sherwood, maybe with a white pickguard? Looks nice though. If it was me I'd make that straight line near the controls more curved but that's just my opinion...

And the stang trem looks loads greater than the strat trem

I like where its going.

Its totally your design, but I agree about smoothing out the bottom pick guard line.

Some other things I'd do if it were mine (which I know it isn't):
-DEFINITELY stick with mustang trem
-Put in a bridge pickup of some kind ( Jag. bridge pup or maybe an old gold foil or lipstick style pup) Real close to the bridge for brightness
-1 vol and 1 selector switch, no tone

oh and i'd be curious to see how it'd look with a mutant/tele top of the pick guard (that doesn't extend up the top horn)

HA I feel like I just purchased and modded your signature model...

While we're customising this sig you mean a rounded Scratchplate top kind of like a stang? And if a bridge pickup was mounted under the guard a la marauder, it'd keep the aesthetics and offer more tonal options...just throwing ideas out there

Yes! Tried it out, was a massive improvement! See picture below

The only pups I have any real experience with are Jazzmaster pickups and strat/tele single coils. I left out the bridge pup because I didn't really know what to put there. Both the gold foil pups and the lipstick pups are aesthetically pleasing, though...

Rounded guard is definitely and improvement. I still think a hidden bridge pup will make it a little less cluttered

Wouldn't that ruin the sound?

I'm not too sure about how it'd sound tbh, there was a thread a while back where someone made a marauder and mounted the pickups under the guard, I think there was a YouTube clip

Now we're talking! Looking good. Funny how a slight aesthetic change like rounding off a guard can make such a difference!

How about a 5 and 1 instead of the 4 and 2?

Like this? Yeah man, looks pretty cool. Don't think I've ever seen that on a guitar before
