Re: Jaguar Plus
You could also buy a Telecaster Plus Tweez, and if you buy a Plus Deluxe you also have tremolo (you'll have to learn to live with the terrible name though). Some of them still go for reasonable prices (when the seller never heard of Radiohead before), like this one: http://cgi.ebay.com/Fender-Telecaster-P ... 0084506289
odd painjobs on a lot of them though

Re: Jaguar Plus
Believe you me I would absolutely love a Telecaster Plus, but I've never found one at a reasonable price when I've had any money I might get a Mexican Telecaster and go to work on it.

Nice buy I'm not keen on the Tele Plus finishes to be honest apart from the Sunburst ones.StevenO wrote: I bought my tele plus for 700cdn in 2004. It's nice and beat up.

Mine is a crimson red burst, or something like that. It has a thin strip of black/dark red going along the edge/sides and then the rest is a transparent red. It's nice! I want a black pickguard for it. Then it would look beautiful.

I've a documentary on lou reed and VU at home and in some footage of their '93 reunion tour Stirling Morrison has a Black jag with black mustang/lace sensor style pickups..pretty cool the look of a black jag with red tortoise and black pickups.
On youtube I can't find something better than this

Re: Jaguar Plus
This kind of reminds me of the best sounding Jaguar I ever heard. It was a kind of beat up light blue Jag with a humbucker in the middle position I tried in a guitar store. I didn't mess with the switches too much and I am not really sure how it was wired, but it had one of the best blues sounds I have ever heard, I don't think I even tried it with distortion. I have never owned a Jaguar, although I think I wanted one ever since I started playing. (correction: I did have a made copy once, but it was too heavy to play standing up)

I'd like to make this one day, the pickups are lace sensors (two red in the bridge, one blue in the neck), each of the three switches turns a pickup on/off and I would have the rhythm circuit correspond to the pickups that were 'on' not just the neck or maybe I'd bung a small Effector 13 Disaster Fuzz in there so I could mess about with it while playing. Also the bridge is a Mustang Bridge.
I love all ideas for modding out guits, but please, if ya can help it, avoid the reverse headstock. I know, it's your preference. And that's great. But the reverse headstock on a regular guitar is the design equivalent of a mullet--including the "does he really think that looks good" bewilderment.
...no offense.
