no. but if you spend 300+ on a vintage guard, suppose you could mod the guitar (new screw holes)

I won't pay for a vintage guard....silly money.

I think I'm going to order one of these:

Actually, that looks really nice....thanks for the heads-up.

So the guards from Allparts are made to fit CIJ?  They don't really say on the website what they are supposed to fit.

actually, the black guitar in this pic is a CIJ, and i didn't have to drill any new holes to fit the vintage guard. i also had a vintage guard on the sunburst MIJ on the left for a while, and it fit without modification too. this has to do with the fact that celluloid shrinks over time (anyone who has removed the guard on an early 60s fender knows that it can be a bitch to get back on), and the holes on the MIJ/CIJs are located slightly closer to the center of the guitar than on AVRI/vintage. i'm not saying all vintage celluloid guards will fit CIJs, it all depends on how the guard has shrunken, but the ones i've had were really easy to fit.

I'm a little late to this but yeah, that is mint green.  It's not white.

Older CIJ's did come with white pickguards.  The current "custom color" ones all come with mint (Fender Japan roughly follows the same coloring schemes as Fender USA did in the early 60's).  I was actually surprised when I got mine that it was mint, because up to that point (this was a year ago), I'd only ever seen or heard of them coming with white guards.  I think they switched just a little earlier.

I personally really like the mint.  It's not too overdone, like I've seen even some Fender USA reissue models have.  I know real vintage mint green can get REALLY green over the years and that's what some of the newer repros are going for.  But mint is one of those colors that *can* just get ugly (IMO) as it gets older, so I'm glad Fender Japan has gone for less of a "relic" look.

But I still want red tort on mine one of these days... the mint green has made it less of a priority than when I thought I was getting plain white, though.
