hi there

Post by gogothegogo » Mon Oct 09, 2006 3:33 am

hi

I'm Gogo, and I am lurker  :D

found this forum, ofcourse, by searching for amazing offset dressing room (great job by the way, you should offer your services to Warmouth or similar company ;) )

I am hooked into fender offsets world since teen years and worshiping Sonic Youth, Mudhoney, Nirvana and other alternative superheroes.

BTW...should'n this forum be called fender-like-offsets because there are many offset guitars out there with differeent philosofy of offset body.
like "anti-hero" of all offsets Gibson SG with it's head diving problems - definitely not on-set  :)

anyway...some 8 years ago I had Squier Jagmaster (china) which was surprisingly playable guitar with amazing neck.
I bought it in a local shop in Zagreb (Croatia) altgough there was one vista jagmaster sitting there which was lost in warehouse for decade.
I was young and stupid and went for 50 bucks less expensive but "same-looking" guitar.

years after that I got my self a serious guitar - hand made beauty from local guitar builder - telecaster copy with bridge humbucker.

quite surfish, right?  :)

few years after that I thought of buying second guitar just for case, as I play live gigs, and I saw Fender Japan Jaguar special in the shop, and after trying it it reminded me of good times with my jagmaster and it's superb neck so I bought it on good bargin.
Soon after Jag started being my first guitar over more expencive, and objectively better guitar my telecaster.

With its small price it is great project guitar and soon I replaced both pickups (shitty humbuckers, although some people loves them) with bridge GFS mean 90, and neck Seymour Duncan Phat Cat. Also I connected bridge pickup to rithm circuit as I found it more usable that way.

next I plan to change pickguard to aged white, add Jazzmaster style switch to lead circuit controlls, and add function of choosing which pickup will work in rythm circuit.
also I might add Jazzbass ashtray to Jag because LP hardtail is not very fenderish to me.

Phat cat on neck gives me the best solo sound on my bassman 100 with some tube screamer aside...think of Gilmour Pulse solo sound.
While GFS mean 90 sounds almoust as real P90, amasing.

that's all for now.
I have a lurking nature so maybe a long time will be till next post :)
cheers,
