I don't really like them much (don't hate them either, they just don't move me in any way), but I like that particular song, he uses a Jaguar for that song right? I think I saw it on Jools Holland.

Anyway; welcome, hope your dad will let you make a great offset.

Ye, so do I.

Brain used his Candy red jag on alot of songs for the first few years. He used it alot in the studio and on videos, and used gibsons more live.

And song to say goodbye is another one of there moving songs.

And about mny dad letting me build a Jag/jazz, is pine a decent body wood?

Pinnypenching, what a great word!

I didn't recognize the Placebo reference, so I was wondering how you were going to explain your user name. I was never into them before but I just picked up their '98 album cheap and I like it a lot .. some great dirty Jazzmaster sounds on it .. I can hear the occasional Bass VI as well.

Stereordinary, why not pine? I think some of the early Teles were pine .. I'm not disagreeing with you, just wondering why .. I'm no luthier.

Oh, I guess I've just never heard of any (solid-body electric) guitars being made out of pine.  I suppose it could still work out great, but it's pretty low on the popularity list.  I'm no luthier either... yet.  :P
