Plus it has that Fibonacci [sp?] thing going on...
Huh

Run that one by me again?
Mez - It's a reference to the coolness of the offset design.

Probably more than you wanna know, but youl'll get the idea:

Spudnik, I know what Fibonacci numbers are (Mum's a mathematician) and I was getting hyped up about the offset shape being expressible in terms of a Fibonacci sequence .. !

I'm guessing you were meaning something like:

That's pretty much it.
On the fdp, we had a short Fibonacci blip about the design, and I think it led to the question: did Leo know about it, and apply any of it to the offset, or other designs?

So .. how is it applied? I can't really visualize how a Fibonacci sequence would produce a Jazzmaster shape?

Possibly with the proportions of the curves.
To be honest, I don't really know as I am now out of my element with the specifics.  :'(
It is food for thought tho. One of these fine people around here may know more...

Geez, we should'a moved this to keep from hijacking the orig thread.
Sorry about that, corona!

Given my understanding of mathematics (I learnt some pretty heavy stuff in 4th year phyiscs at uni,  any one remeber Rhiemen surfaces ???),  I would hazzard a guess that any similarity between Leo's designs and those produced via any Fibonacci sequence would be purely coincidental...

I would have thought it had to do more with what ever "french curve" stencil they had in the design room at the time.  I don't think Fibonacci sequences would have been high on Leo's reading list.

He was a self-taught radio repairman, so I think you're right.

Worth looking into though.

Hey dude,hijackings cool.
if you want to learn about the numbers go here: http://goldennumber.net/
1.618 can be applied to anything to increase its asthetic appeal, this goes for music too.
Write a song around 1.618(0,1, 2,3, 5, 7,8, 13-=1) and it has i likable quality,its pretty intense tho hey.
EDIT:*I think these numbers are right, its been a while since i used this math stuff*
