Offsetter DarrelT, reporting for duty Sir..

Post by DarrelT » Wed Sep 27, 2006 6:48 am

Even though I profess to be a Coronado nut,  I do own a couple of offsets, and they get played the most!
Great to see the new board, looking forward to many posts!

Hi Jonas,
Well, being that the humidity level is just now dropping a bit, and the fact that I STILL can't decide what color to use, the refin has gone relitively nowhere.  It needs to be soon.
I really need to see a mockup with all the correct hardware (hint) and get some others input.  I don't want the normal sunburst, and most likely not black or white.  I'm leaning towards BMM, and also am considering Firemist silver, IBM and charcoal frost.  And oddly enough, I the Anitigua finish with the tort guard and the closely related ElvisC burst.

I've been playing it a lot though.

Welcome aboard and may you proceed to bless us with this "Maverick" of which you speek, as I have never heard of one.

The Custom / Maverick was an attempt to use up surplus Electric XII parts.  Here's what I know...(or think I know)

Electronics, same as the XII ( maybe a changed capacitor?).
Mustang bridge & trem.
Reshaped XII body, bridge route hole plugged.
XII neck with veneered shortened headstock. Supposedly, some were purpose made. I believe mine to be one.
Sunburst only with all black back  (due to the bridge plug) .  I've heard on a couple of custom colors, but never seen one.
I have seen pics of black and white refins.

Welcome Darrel!

Are you the artist formerly known as IdiotBear from Area 51?

I own an Electric XII now and this has naturally made me interested in their offshoots.

Hi Marc,
Nope, not me.  Although I've never played a XII, I do think they're cool. I only remember seeing one odd XII variation, someone once post either a pic or video clip of someone playing one with a maple fretboard.  I'd totally freak if I ever saw an Antigua, paisley, or blue flower.

Rob is idiotbear both at the FDP and here. Haven't seen much of him since he joined but he's got some pretty cool music up on Myspace so I hope he posts links to some of that in the Music section.
