Enjoying my read through the forum. I'm into Jazzmasters and tweed. I like my rosewood in a slab-sized serving and my amps with a side order of asbestos.
I've always been into "classic" rock, so school me on who was using a Jazzmaster back in the 1958 to say the mid 1970's era. From about the time they were introduced until the apex of arena/boogie rock. There have to be a few big time guys?

Phelps Collins aka Catfish, brother of Bootsy played a jazzmaster when he was in the JBs and also in Bootsys Rubber Band / Parliament / Funkadelic. (I have seen a few photos of him with a Gibson as well).

The lead guitarist in The Ventures played one for a few years in the early 60s and Johnny Cash's guitarist. I've seen footage of Jimi Hendrix playing a Jaguar in The Isley Brothers and my memory might be mistaken, but I'm sure I've seen pictures of him on a Jazzmaster during the same period.
After that, the only famous guitarists I can think of who played JMs before 'grunge' are Elvis Costello, Tom Verlaine (Television) and Robert Smith (Cure).
