Hello from new member in Seattle

Post by Dr Rick » Wed Jul 12, 2017 8:59 pm

Hi, new to sign up but have read and appreciated lots of threads on this board.
I have a new to me Squier J Mascis and will just start with a good set up and go from there.

Any recommendations for replacement strings as a start?

Best,
Rick

Howdy. I'm in Seattle too.

I'd say Mike & Mike's Guitar Bar are the offset specialists in town if you're looking to take it somewhere. Not cheap, but good work.

I run these strings on Jazzmasters and everything else. I really like them. Not too bright out of the box. Well balanced in sound and feel from string to string. Stay in tune well enough. Long lasting. Readily available.

Hi Offsetters!
I just joined up yesterday after picking up a Squier VM Jaguar.
Been playing electric bass for 30+ years and finally decided to "learn me up" some guitar.
This thing weighs a ton for a little guitar. 12 gauge flatwound strings on order.
Another Seattleite in the mix. Woo!
