I saw SWANS in Heidelberg on sunday. My ears are still bleeding... 8)
I was really impressed by the massive wall of sound, it felt like diving right into the music. And Baby Dee as support act - what a contrast!

Warpaint were great, and i got to see my bud (who is their drummer) when they finished their set before Depeche went on. lots of rad offset action!

Depeche was excellent, Dave is a killer performer. not sure where he gets all that energy still, but he clearly loves what he's doing. Martin busted out his Daphne Blue '66 Duo-Sonic at one point.
Jesus and Mary Chain were extremely solid and have obviously been doing a lot of rehearsals, because they sounded really tight. However still not my jam completely. oh well!

Gary Numan coming up soon.

Gary Numan was good fun when I saw him a couple of weeks ago. Not sure about his current stage gear though - looked like post-apocalyptic long-johns.

It's been a busy few days for me and the missus - Godspeed You Black Emperor on Friday, Aimee Mann w/ Jonathan Coulton on Sunday, and tonight we're off to see Goldfrapp. We've got Blondie in the near future as well. There seem to have been LOADS of bands playing Glasgow this autumn.

I'm going to Goldfrapp tonight with full family and umpteen hangers on and repeating it for Jane Weaver at the weekend.

Always forget to post in here but I saw Carla Dal Forno the other night playing with Glasgow's own via Poland, Ela Orleans. I've seen Carla live few times and still really enjoyed it.

Slowdive in Toronto on Friday. The Mrs is going with me, but hates them, so she may get subbed out for my 6 year old (he loves them).

he was great! hahaha i agree! :D unfortunately the venue they played here is shit, and they only got an hour to play, as the headlining act. not cool. Gary was not impressed :-/

Was that Calgary? I saw a post on Facebook that they'd had a long drive from Vancouver in bad weather, made worse by a puncture, and then had a curfew at the venue. And now he's in Winnipeg, complaining that the post-apocalyptic long-johns aren't really up to the job of winter on the prairies :D

Braving the ~festival crowd~ Dec 15-17 at Day for Night. I'll be skipping the NiN and James Blake to catch:

GAS
Forest Swords
Tim Hecker
Andy Stott
Demdike Stare
Faten Kanaan

Houston usually gets the coldest of shoulders as most electronic acts fly over everything between the coasts (or at best between New Orleans and Austin), so while the festival setting isn't ideal I'm excited to get a lot of shows I've desperately been wanting to see checked off the bucket list.

Cherry on top is that it starts the evening after my final term exams :)
