PJ Harvey rocks a Jag
There:

Looks like an AV65?
Looking forward to her new album. While I'm not a die hard fan, I always found two or three gems in each one of her releases.

Re: PJ Harvey rocks a Jag
sounds promising ...
the guitar is a vintage piece, 1965 obviously.

Re: PJ Harvey rocks a Jag
She also had the sunburst Jag from the Dry era...l have a live show of hers where she plays it pretty much throughout the whole thing.
I love PJ, but only the early stuff to be honest. Rid Of Me is probably my favourite

This pretty much sums me up. Always a few gems per album but I keep going back to Rid of Me, Dry or To Bring You My Love. I still spin Rid of Me every week or two.zhivago wrote:I love PJ, but only the early stuff to be honest. Rid Of Me is probably my favourite

I remember seeing her play a track called 'my perfect cousin' in the early 90's either on snub tv or perhaps jools, which might have been a cij?

She'll always be a Firebird player to me. Suits her perfectly:

This video of her playing "To Bring You My Love" made me want a Firebird so bad: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P92M5s3MMto" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;HorseyBoy wrote:She'll always be a Firebird player to me. Suits her perfectly:
I think that's a vintage Firebird VII. Firebirds with that tailpiece look so nice. And this is one guitar that I'd only want in sunburst.

I absolutely adore everything she has ever done. I am sure this will not be an exception. Dancehall at Louse Point is still one of my favorite records, ever. Her and John Parish were meant to be paired IMHO.

Re: PJ Harvey rocks a Jag
I didn't know she had a new album coming out thanks for the post. my obligatory two cents, "Is This Desire" is my favorite from her. Great album start to finish. Maybe no big radio hits, but no filler either and "The sky lit up" was just an awesome song.

Re: PJ Harvey rocks a Jag
I can't wait. PJ is one of my all-time heroes, and a big part of why I got into guitar playing again. Really excited to hear her follow-up to Let England Shake. After LES I've had no idea where she was gonna go stylistically, and that's exciting. I've seen some new shots of her playing sax, so I'm guessing she learned how to play it for this album much like what she did with the autoharp and the piano for LES and White Chalk, respectively.
