Does anyone know the "Another View" Record? If I remember correctly,
it was intented to be released as a regular album ( between the
third and the 4th), but never made it...
"Guess I'm falling in love" off that album is one of the MOST ripping pieces
of r'n'r music to have ever been recorded.
There is also a version w/ vocals, but I nevermanaged to track it down.
Remember hearing it at my ex-guitarist's place. We were jumping around the
room until the neighbours came knocking.

Nico: Her 1st single ("I'm not saying that I love you") is most ravishing.
Jimmy Page played guitar on it. True. I think it was released as promo only.
You can find a short clip of it on youtube.

I think it's the "VU" record that was intended as a regular (4th) album. (It's arguably better and more polished)

"Guess I'm falling in love" is one of the best instrumentals there is!!! The version with lyrics (it's live and slower) can be found on "Peel Slowly and See" (Disc 3) but it's not as good as the instrumental version (it's pretty darn good though). A (very good) cover of this song has been recorded (in Swedish, named "Jag tror jag är kär") by Bob Hund and can be found on the album "10 år bakåt & 100 år framåt".

"Another View" also have an instrumental version of "Ride Into the Sun" (later recorded by just Lou Reed (with lyrics)) that is really good (better than the Reed version).

PS. Just found a video from the 1993 reunion tour where the velvets are playing "Guess I'm falling in love" and Sterling Morrison is playing a beautiful Jaguar! (Lou could take it little easier on the soloing though): http://youtube.com/watch?v=hlAaY25aTwM

We used to cover it also, but we played the lyrics version at instrumental speed ("I got my fever in my pocket...")
I looked at Bob Hund's WebSite, but the English Version seems a little messed up. I like the logo, though.
And "Ride into the Sun" is far better than the Lou Reed Version, I agree.

VU are amazing............The Velvet Underground & Nico would be my desert island disc.

I agree with most of you that Loaded is the bands weakest album.

as i recall, that also turns up on a Mo Tucker solo EP, with Jad Fair of Half Japanese on vocals.

VU were the best band ever.

No one comes close. Those that do owe everything to them. Those that don't owe everything to them.

The Blue Mask is one of favorite Lou Reed albums. Robert Quine plays some mean guitar on it.
