Albert Ayler - New York Ear & Eye Control

Naked Lunch OST - Howard Shore, Ornette Coleman & London Philharmonic
Chappaqua Suite* - Ornette Coleman
*(tenuous as it was commissioned for the film Chappaqua but ultimately unused as director Conrad Rooks thought it was "so beautiful that he feared it would overpower the imagery and action of the film")

The Fountain - Clint Mansell & Kronos Quartet w/Mogwai

Reach the Rock - John McEntire
& whilst sadly not currently available as a stand alone soundtrack, Tortoise's work on Lovely Molly is superb.
"The music is like life, only better." - Derek Bailey

whisperit wrote:it's not out yet and probably not news for many of you, but hey, Johhny Jewel was not mentioned yet!

The soundtrack for Ryan Gosling-directed The Lost River is due out on March 30th and it will feature tracks by Glass Candy, Desire, Symmetry, Johhny's colaboration with Saoirse Ronan and Ben Mendelsohn and two new Chromatics tracks
Out now on iTunes.
Apparently, the physical release will follow in a couple of months and the film itself has mostly received negative reviews :-/

Anyway, will give it a listen this evening. I'm sure there are some gems among those 37 tracks!

How have I missed this thread for three months?

The score to Inarritu's Biutiful was probably one of the more memorable scores I've experienced and didn't come across it in a thread yet. Unfortunately, I'm off at work and can't link anything.

I just got this, really nicely put together and the music is dandy, it's quite expensive though.

Maybe the best place of this.

Anyone who loved Mica Levi's score to Under the Skin should get thee to Boomkat and grab one of the vinyl copies of Micachu - feeling romantic feeling tropical feeling ill (Vinyl Edition on DDS - Demdike Stare records) This originally came out on Cassette last year but it's now been given a limited vinyl release, hopefully there is still some left, I remember buying the tape and going back to buy one as a gift a few house later and they were all gone, I was going to post on Friday but I wanted to get my shipping email in before I drew too much attention to it. ;) A stunning piece of inventive approachable and pop hearted soundart.

If you aren't into vinyl you can get an MP3 or FLAC.

Holy Mountain, The Dance of Reality and El Topo have just been released in a natty set with some bags to impress the artisan cheese man at the farmers market!

I've also just bought the Ex Machina soundtrack, the film's OK but I'd not want to see it more than once.

Plus;

Alessandro Alessandroni - Killer nun which is packaged to the usual Death Waltz high standard. I also got the cool print.

Piero Piccioni - Colpo rovente ost

The really nice Wickerman 40th reissue (which you can also get as a really nice poster) , A Girl Walks Home at night and a couple of other strays.

Just watched Upstream Color. The score was just wonderful. Perfect match with the beautiful shots, and just strange enough to parallel to the weirdness of the film.

It's not a film soundtrack but a soundtrack to a short story reading but no matter Jon Brooks - Music for Thomas Carnacki is spellbinding and the recent (and sold out) vinyl pressing has been a turntable fixture at a Castle Shadowplay.

Fear not if you missed the boat, you can still buy and listen to the full digital version ((((((((HERE))))))))

I just got the OST to The Knick. I couldn't get past the first 15 minutes of the TV show but I really like the music.

Cliff Martinez - Goodnight Nurse Elkins

you can flick through it a check it out on Juno.

It is indeed a really nice poster - last year's Christmas present from my gf:

Meanwhile, soundtrack-wise, I've finally got my hands on a physical copy of Cliff Martinez's soundtrack to the George-Clooney's-arse version of Solaris.
