I like it. This band sounds like it could help fill that Stereolab and Broadcast-shaped void... Thanks, Dave!

Both are true, however using them as serving platters isn't recommended unless they're of the newer "dishwasher safe" variety. (Don't ask how I know this :fp: )

I like it, I can't say I'm getting the Broadcast comparison though, which makes it ever so slightly disappointing.

It's the retro-futurist thing.

You know, after a second listen it's making more sense- I think what threw me off is I was expecting something more lo-fi and with more synth prominence.

Great release but if you own The other world you will be a little disappointed.

I do and I'm not disappointed in the slightest, the records are obviously kissing cousins but Entropicalia is definitely more of a true LP.

YES!
Was just listening with Mrs. HP and were commenting how it takes us both back to our jr. designer days :)
Consequently, I've dusted off all my old Stereolab records for the trip, today.

Another great recommend, D!
Thank you.

D they're a bit more than kissing cousins, conjoined twins perhaps?
I have to admit today I opened the vinyl and listened to it at volume and I was more impressed.
And please don't get me wrong Entropicalia is an amazing album, I just think The Other World of is better.

On a different note but also down to you, have you listened to Apse? The band that ERAAS came from. I heard a couple of tracks today and was impressed enough to go looking for their releases.

I forgot to get back to you on this, you might want to look into Tim Gane's new thing Cavern Of Anti-Matter. There's two 12's and an album.

Sample 12' track. Neu, that's what I call musik!

Whole LP here.

Incidentally another great modern slice of Motorik is the Aspodells/Friendly FIres collab 12'. Velois tres motorik while the other side is chiming dream pop. It's tangy orange vinyl in a Julian House sleeve (unusually these days it has a proper inner sleeve) or digital.

Trufact:

Was in my local record store browsing the latest offerings, and this caught my eye. Little write up/card prompted me to buy it. At the counter, a fellow punter told me it was a really good album. When I said cool, she said it was her band, and low and behold she's the singer. She must've gotten a great buzz off seeing some random buying her album in a shop.

Ha, either that or she hangs about in record shops hoping to spot future fans :)

Yeah, it is a good album. As soon as I heard the first track, I just wanted to be groovily moseying down a 1969 San Franciscan street.
