All these reunions...

Post by fuzzking » Thu Nov 15, 2007 6:36 am

..are driving me totally nuts!

Polvo, Swervedriver, MBV...

seems like a good idea to take half a year off from work in 2008,

and to start laying money aside NOW!!!

I would give a non-essential body part for a Mazzy Star reunion, or at least another Hope solo album.

Don't we have a member here who plays with her, or have I finally lost the plot?

Really? But her latest album had only 2-3 tracks with electric guitar, and if i remember correctly Colm O'Ciosoig(yes, the MBV drummer) was responsible for most of the guitar work.

There's a fair possibility I'm talking out of my ass, but I could have sworn someone mentioned it here once...I distinctly remember thinking how cool it was he played for her. Maybe I was dreaming...

I seem to remember something about that too, doc, but I can't remember exactly!

At the moment, I'm thinking pullover. Could be someone else entirely though. I'm a great help, aren't I ;).

Now I'm thinking stereordinary. I may have misinterpreted this:
stereordinary wrote: My Dream Jaguar sounds pretty sweet.  I do a lot of really acrobatic lead stuff on it to complement Hope Sandoval's voice.  It's a great contrast between Dominic Chad's Black ES-335 and J. Caxide's Stingray bass.  On drums we have Greg Edwards, formerly of Failure rounding out a fantastic rock band, coming soon to a town near you!
Yeah, it stuck in my mind wrong. It's a thread about dream jaguars. Move along now, nothing to see here! ;)

Or is it? Ah hell, I don't know.

I'm thinking that a Jag would be too harsh for her soft druggy voice, maybe on the neck pup with the tone knob all the way down.

As i type this i'm listening to a pre-Mazzy Star demo recording of a very young Hope that i found on dimeadozen. Great stuff.

Architecture students are like virgins with an itch they cannot scratch,  never build a building 'till are fifty, what kind of life is that?
