Turn me on to some good John Frusciante
So the Dinosaur Jr thread was/is good, how about another guy that plays offsets some.
John Frusciante
I like his stuff with the Peppers a lot, I saw them a bit back and Josh was playing he was good but I wanted to see John.
I have listened to a few albums on youtube but do yo guys have some favorites?

For me, nothing beats Blood Sugar Sex Magic. To me, it's the pinnacle of not only the RHCP, but Frusciante's raw energy and creativity.
The cool thing about fretless is you can hit a note...and then renegotiate.

+1 the only peppers album I can still listen to.Telliot wrote:For me, nothing beats Blood Sugar Sex Magic. To me, it's the pinnacle of not only the RHCP, but Frusciante's raw energy and creativity.
His solo stuff is actually really good, reminds me a lot of Syd Barrett.

The empyrean is good, he plays a lot of the parts on The Mars Voltas Amputechture, and I would also say Ataxia is pretty cool to me.

I know this is the popular opinion, but I always preferred Frusciante's playing.sdgails wrote:Hillel Slovak FTW

Start with Blood Sugar. You can't go wrong on any account.
(WARNING: Stay away from One Hot Minute. For some reason his playing sounds really contrived and his guitar sounds like a PRS thru a solid state amp with a bunch of broken boss pedals in between. )
