Depends on what you are after, if you want big sounding guitar bands with charismatic singers you might be disappointed. Obviously there are exceptions like that last
Twilight Sad album executive produced by Andrew Weatherall who is someone who I think gets ' it'. I'd say the same about
Mirror Mirrorby Sons and Daughters (another track
Ink Free which I think shows a bit of a debt to Red Light), again the producer JD Twitch is someone who I can talk about this sort of music to without having to explain or qualify anything (the
Emperor Machine remix of Orion is superb Post Punk Disko that I'd have killed for when I play records in Goth clubs). Mirror Mirror is quite a sad tale because I was a bit of a sales disaster compared to their earlier records., which shows there's not a huge mainstream appetite for this sort of stuff. Since many of the good newer bands use a lot of synths, are more introspective and much of the good modern music informed by PP is tech of one kind or another. A lot of the modern stuff reminds me of a lot of period cassette only stuff and this kind of goes hand in hand with the likes of Vinyl on Demand who are pressing a lot of that sort of thing in a civilised format. It's also notable that there's lots more self contained female artists.
Sad to say most of the older bands either make no new records or terrible ones, the likes of Eyeless in Gaza, Ike Yard/Black Rain and Wrangler being exceptions. I've zero interest in the nostalgia circuit, I saw everyone in their pomp.
I've got close to all the old post punk records I'm ever going to buy, Its one of my things , I've thousands and go deep on it. I guess there might still be some out there but in the meantime, there's plenty of good modern stuff.

Both beautiful and terrible...like a shark! There's only 2 12's and a 7' all on Hospital Productions (or 8 digital tracks if that's how you roll). Interesting also for the use of accordion, I know folk like Pauline Oliveros have used it very untraditionally but it's still fairly novel.
