Alan Wilder's post-Depeche Mode band is called Recoil and most of the vocals are spoken word.

Checkout Unsound Methods....some of it is kinda creepy, but cool.

Merchant Ships- Sleep Patterns
There is a "sung" section to this admittedly, but it's predominantly spoken word.

Arab Strap- The First Big Weekend
Same deal, sung section towards the end, but predominately spoken word.

There's a Wild Nothing song that plays on the radio at work all the time that has a decent spoken word section.

I feel bad for not knowing the name, as my friend is friends with Jack and sent me the album quite a bit before it released. I never downloaded it. Oops.

I've been really enjoying the just out Chris Petit and Mordant music collaboration (only a snippet). Petits films and his readings are 'smeared and spored by' Baron Mordant (Ian Hicks). Reminds me of David Toop.

and an old favourite: Television Personalities - Diary of a Young Man

I don't think I saw anyone mention Godspeed you! Black emperor so...

And another favorite is a group called old gray.

Those are just a few great examples of speaking in songs.
