contains regular singing as well, but still great! Weatherall's remix is also classy, but so far you can only listen to it here, around 51st minute.
Quality post! I've got both 12's incoming, can't wait to hear them. The snippet I heard was great. I heard this was coming but somehow missed it.

Btw you might like the Khidja track I posted a few floors up, it's a fantastic EP.

Hm, so far I can't see When A Woman Is Around being available on physical formats, so I pre-ordered it on iTunes for peanuts.

And yes, I didn't get that El Fadaa EP yet, but totally agree - that Drums Of Taksim track is brilliant.

The LP isn't out for 6 weeks but there's 2 Guilty of Love 12's on regular and the Weatherall remix one. Like you I was forced to itunes for the song you posted.

The Khidja is really good, I'd bet you'd like Monkey Tiger off it.

The Duke St. Workshop with Laurence R Harvey - The Machine Frankly I lost my shit when I got my mitts on this. File under 'Why the fuck didn't I think of that'

The Duke St. Workshop with Laurence R Harvey - Return To The Churchyard

A fusion of spoken word HP Lovecraft, creeping synth dread and post Carpenter horror disco!

More to listen to here!

and some info here.

Cosey Fanni Tutti - Time Will Tell

I was thinking about the Namm misogyny thread and musing that it was just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to rock's long standing problem with women. It's not as if you have to dig very deep, most if the household names are knee deep in it.

I grew up is a very old fashioned household and often music like this track (a much treasured cassette only release)was huge for 14 or 15 year old me in understanding a woman's right to be whatever she wanted to be and while a lot if the ideas within don't seem that radical today, they were then.

Ancient Methods - A German Love probably not safe for work (unless you're a mental health professional) and I've told my older kids; THIS GOES ON THE YOU CAN'T PLAY THIS AT AN UNDERAGE NIGHT LIST - stern face). Comes in 'delightful' limited 'blood print' sleeve :k ???. The bee (by Theologian* is a killer too).

*I thought they only had one record out (gristly black lunged techno of a sort) which I learned about since Shari Vari of Void Vision sung on a song (video isn't 'family friendly', you need to do a special yootoob secret handshake to view it and it's bit well...inappropriate for young minds.). Turns out they have loads out, it's just that they only have one black format release.

Thomas Leer - The Blood of a Poet

OT but the first track on this sadly digital or CD only album is fucking killer.

Thomas Leer - Angels of Difference

Some Dad Rock to round out the thread:

Robbie Robertson - Somewhere Down The Crazy River: https://youtu.be/4KP9PNSUME4

The Rolling Stones - Far Away Eyes: https://youtu.be/VyK1bZZ7E-s

Not purely spoken word, but there you go.

And some other bits:

Laurie Anderson - Sharkey's Day: https://youtu.be/VaBbHGKLp88

Al Purdy's At The Quinte Hotel: https://youtu.be/R1dc9OaS8GU

Do they count?
Blank.

There's a Robbie Robertson song I really like on his Music for the Native Americans Album, that he talk/sings called Ghost Dance. It a bit more modern sounding than you'd normally expect from him.

Clock DVA - The Connection Machine I've got a bit of a life long obsession with Clock DVA and I'm very pleased they are getting re-evaluated these days. This came out in 1988 at a time when I thought perhaps Clock DVA were finished (since Adi Newton was preoccupied with the T.A.G.C- Anti Group Corporation who I also loved) and it was the Bee of The Hacker single and the three singles of this period (Hacker/The Act/Sound Mirror) and the related album Buried Dreams are in my opinion incredible works that are often overlooked. Deep records for the mind and the body, the sensual and the intellectual, that reward close contemplative listening AND get you pulling shapes on the dancefloor.

If anyone's interest is piqued they might want to check out Buried Dreams which is on yootoob in it's entirety (plus the tracks from the 12's which I guess must have been tacked on the end of the CD release).
