Listening to Funhouse, definitely my favourite Stooges record. The drum sounds on it are incredible, I'd love it if somebody had somehow sampled the whole kit.

My youngest daughter has become pretty obsessed with .O.Rang the Talk Talk spinoff. I started playing the records again a lot recently after getting in the mood listening to Komodo Kolektif and the wee one has taken up the baton for them in a big way. Even though I've had the records since the early 90's they still sound so fresh and modern to me and little Shadowplay likes to put on her mask and do some interpretive tribal dancing to them whih makes listening even better.
Not really sure why .O.Rang are a bit of a best kept secret, it's a crying shame to me that Paul Webb and Lee Harris called it a day after 2 albums, a 12' and a remix and with the renewed interest in (broadly) Fourth World confections I hope they get reappraised more widely.
.O.Rang - Herd of Instinct (1994 Full Album)
.O.Rang - Fields & Waves (1996 Full Album)

Re: Now playing... "what are you listening to right now" thr
All this year I've been listening to one of my favourite artists, Sandro Perri. Folk meets Brazilian Jazz/Bossa Nova meets Electronic, but not in the way you'd think. I'm bad with the whole genre thing, but I just seriously love the stuff this guy puts out.
This album of his is really quite wonderful and much recommended:
A bit of an oddball, this one, but I've also really been enjoying the album Foetus by Franca Battiato. Energy and The Cell are two of my favourite tracks on the record. Yeah, I'm pretty sure it might be a weird synth record about anti-abortion (I admittedly haven't delved much into the lyrics), but I dig it.
